Pharmacy First – launched 31st January 2024

From 31st January 2024 your local pharmacist can see and prescribe for the following conditions. This will mean that you won’t need to book a GP appointment to get treatment as the pharmacist will be able to issue you with appropriate medication.

CLINICAL PATHWAY AGE RANGE
Acute Otitis Media* – Earache 1 to 17 years
Impetigo 1 year and over
Infected Insect Bites 1 year and over
Shingles 18 years and over
Sinusitis 12 years and over
Sore Throat 5 years and over
Uncomplicated Urinary Tract Infections Women 16 to 64 years
   

This is not a substitute to seeing a GP if you think you have anything more serious or for calling 999 if you have a medical emergency.
